 Day 1: Honolulu (Oahu), Hawaii

The former whaling village, Lahaina preserves its 19th-century heritage alongside funky shops, boutiques, galleries and gourmet dining. It is also the gateway to the distinctive volcanic landscapes of Maui, known as the Valley Isle.

12 days roundtrip from Honolulu

 Day 1: Arrive Hotel, Honolulu

Marvel at the breathtaking ocean view from the Marriott Waikiki Resort & Spa. Steps away from world-famous Waikiki Beach, the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa enchants guests with more than five acres of tropical beauty. Here, the Marriott tradition blends with Hawaii’s warm Aloha Spirit to create a welcoming atmosphere. A luxurious resort by any standard, it offers two beautiful outdoor pools, a full spa and a full spectrum of watersports.

 Day 2: North Shore, Honolulu

Start your day off with a beautiful scenic tour of Oahu’s famous North Shore, the legendary surf mecca. You’ll stop at Haleiwa, the social and artistic hub of the North Shore filled with cool surf shops and boutiques, great restaurants and charming art galleries. You’ll also see famous surf spots, including Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach and Ehukai Beach (Banzai Pipeline) — during winter, these spots are known for monstrous waves reaching 20 to 40 feet.

Enjoy the afternoon at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and experience authentic island villages showcasing the traditional lifestyles of some of Hawaii’s original descendants from Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga and Tahiti. Go native with a variety of interactive experiences from island games and tantalizing dances to a private canoe tour, where you’ll see a variety of Polynesian dances during the festive canoe pageant.

 Day 3: Pearl Harbor & Downtown, Honolulu

Immerse yourself in history. As you travel from Waikīkī toward Pearl Harbor, you will visit the Punchbowl Crater, home of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and enjoy breathtaking city and ocean views. Traveling through downtown, you’ll see the state capitol building, the governor’s mansion, Iolani Palace (the only royal palace in the United States) and the imposing King Kamehameha statue.

From there, you will visit Pearl Harbor and enjoy observations from an expert tour guide. First, you’ll take a boat shuttle to the USS Arizona Memorial, a floating memorial built over the sunken hull of the Battleship USS Arizona, the final resting place for many of the ship’s crew.

You’ll then tour the USS Bowfin, the submarine known as the “Pearl Harbor Avenger,” and get a close look at its torpedo room, engine room and sleeping quarters. Then you’ll have the chance to explore the decks of the 60,000-ton battleship USS Missouri. Don’t miss the Surrender Deck on “Mighty Mo,” where General MacArthur accepted the unconditional Japanese surrender that ended World War II.

Your afternoon continues at the Pacific Aviation Museum, within former WWII airplane hangars on Pearl Harbor’s Ford Island. Experience exhibits showcasing the stories behind WWII fighter planes and bombers. Plus see planes like an authentic Japanese Zero as well as a B-25B bomber, the planes used in 1942 during the Tokyo Raid.

 Day 4: Nu'uanu Pali & Kualoa Ranch

Spend another day exploring O`ahu’s beautiful outdoors. After checking out of your hotel, your luggage will be taken directly to Pride of America. From Waikīkī, you will travel to a famous Hawaiian historical land mark, the Nu`uanu Pali Lookout. A magnificent stone terrace perched more than 1,000 feet above the O`ahu coastline, the Pali Lookout is the site of the Battle of Nu`uanu, where in 1795 King Kamehameha I won the struggle that finally united O`ahu under his rule.

Your day continues at Kualoa Ranch. Enjoy a scenic drive showcasing the mystical and dramatic cliffs along the Ko`olau Mountain Range with cascading waterfalls and gorgeous ocean views, and you’ll see why this part of O`ahu has been the location for numerous TV shows and movies.

During your time at Kualoa Ranch, step back in time and learn how ancient Hawaiians lived and thrived as a people. Learn about early Hawaiian aquaculture and agricultural practices developed thousands of years before foreigners arrived. Ride a catamaran fashioned after traditional Hawaiian canoes to an ancient Hawaiian fishpond where you will learn how early settlers cultivated and caught fish. Continue on to an oyster pond where modern day cultivation is done using ancient techniques.

Enjoy interactive experiences showing the many uses of the taro plant, ti leaves and coconut palm fronds. Witness the turning of taro root into poi. Learn the cultural history of hula and lei making and try your hand learning an authentic hula dance.

After lunch and Ocean Voyage tour aboard the catamaran, you’ll transfer directly to the Port of Honolulu. From there, you will board Pride of America for your amazing 7-Day Hawai`i cruise, a chance to journey through the rest of the islands and further explore the Aloha State in all its majesty.

 Day 5: Honolulu, Oahu (embark)

The big, blue Pacific and stunning Koolau mountains serve as a dramatic setting for Hawaii’s largest city. Climb to the top of Diamond Head. Take a romantic sunset stroll on Waikiki Beach. Catch a glimpse of history by visiting Pearl Harbor and the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

 Day 6 & 7: Kalului, Maui

A surplus of natural splendor and the genuine hospitality of its people have helped to make Maui Hawaii’s second most popular island. Explore the fascinating history of the town of Lahaina. Plant yourself on a pristine beach, or play one of the world’s most beautiful golf courses.

 Day 8: Hilo, Hawaii

The entire city of Hilo is like one giant greenhouse with spectacular tropical flowers at every turn. Visit the town’s well-preserved historic buildings, which date back to the turn of the century and showcase Hawaii’s unique architecture. Just 30 miles away the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the home of the active Kilauea Volcano.

 Day 9: Kona, Hawaii

Kona offers the quintessential Hawaii experience. Sunny, warm weather and crystal blue waters entice visitors to partake in a variety of surfside fun. Snorkel amongst a kaleidoscope of tropical marine life. Take a surfing lesson, a kayaking trip or head out to deeper waters for some deep-sea fishing.

 Day 10 & 11: Nawiliwili, Kauai

Named after the Wiliwili trees, which once lined its picturesque harbor, this lovely port of Kauai is your gateway to what many believe to be Hawaii’s most beautiful island. On “The Garden Island,” nature is truly the star, from the dramatic mountains of Kokee to the cool rain forests of Haena. And the tradition of the luau adds lively entertainment unique to Hawaii.

 Day 12: Honolulu, Oahu

13 days from Oahu to Maui

 Day 1: Honolulu

Aloha—welcome to Hawaii! Upon arrival at Honolulu International Airport, you will be greeted with a fresh flower lei and transferred to your hotel in Waikiki. Your Tour Director will be on hand to assist with check-in.

 Day 2: Honolulu

Enjoy a full day at leisure. Your Tour Director will have suggestions, including activities near world-famous Waikiki Beach or a full-day optional outing to the Polynesian Cultural Center on the island’s North Shore, where you’ll enjoy a dinner buffet and the colorful Hā: Breath of Life stage show.

 Day 3: Honolulu, excursion to USS Arizona

This morning, your sightseeing excursion features the sunken USS ARIZONA and its impressive memorial to the men still entombed there, as well as Punchbowl National Cemetery with its beautiful views of Honolulu. Other sites include bustling Chinatown, ‘Iolani Palace, and the statue of King Kamehameha the Great. The afternoon is free for independent activities. Tonight, join the optional sunset dinner cruise along the shores of Waikiki.

 Day 4: Honolulu

One last day to enjoy Waikiki, the world’s most famous beach. Your Tour Director has ideas to make your day memorable.

 Day 5: Hilo, Hawaii Volcanoes NP, Kona

This morning, depart for Hilo on the “Big Island” of Hawaii with its spectacular scenery that includes misty plateaus, craggy cliffs, tropical rainforests, bamboo groves, and lava deserts. On arrival, tour HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK. See Kilauea Crater, rising 4,090 feet above a volcanic wonderland of steaming fire pits, lava tubes, and fern forests. Arrive in Kona on the sunny side of the “Big Island” in the early evening.

 Day 6: Kona

The following two days are free to explore the charming and historic town of Kailua-Kona. Optional activities include a snorkeling cruise to a coral reef to view magnificent tropical fish, or a helicopter ride along the Kohala coastline and over the famous Parker Ranch and an active volcano. For an unforgettable adventure, join the afternoon optional excursion to the summit of Mauna Kea Crater (13,796 feet) to view the sunset, then visit the Ellison Onizuka Visitor Center (9,200 feet) to stargaze in the evening

 Day 7: Kona

Today is yours to relax and to explore the resort area of Kailua, situated in between Kailua Bay and the dormant Hualalai Volcano. Kailua is rich in Hawaiian history and features the historic Hulihe’e Palace, a former vacation home of the Hawaiian Royal Family, and Ahu’ena Heiau, the well-restored personal temple of King Kamehameha the Great. This area is also known for growing the famous Kona coffee, one of the most sought-after coffees in the world.

 Day 8: Kauai

Morning transfer to Kona International Airport for the flight to the “Garden Isle” of Kauai. Drive along the scenic southern shore via Poipu Beach to Waimea, once the Polynesian capital of Kauai and the site where Captain Cook landed on the islands in 1778. Sightseeing highlights include WAIMEA CANYON, known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” the lush and fertile Hanapepe Valley, and a photo stop at SPOUTING HORN, a dramatic blowhole on the ocean’s edge. Later, arrive at your oceanside hotel in Kapa’a.

 Day 9: Kauai

Kauai has a lot to offer, and your Tour Director will suggest several optional outings for the duration of your stay, including a trip to Hanalei Bay, the filming location of many Hollywood movies, such as South Pacific and The Thornbirds. Tonight, attend a LUAU feast, considered one of Hawaii’s best. After dinner, sit back and watch a captivating international revue of dancers and musicians. (D)

 Day 10: Maui

This morning, fly to Maui, the “Valley Island.” On arrival, sightseeing begins with a visit to the ‘IAO VALLEY, the “Yosemite of the Pacific,” to view the ‘lao Needle. Then, head through lush farm country and along the shoreline via Maalaea Boat Harbor to Lahaina, once a whaling center and capital of the Hawaiian monarchy. Free time to explore this colorful town.

 Day 11: Maui

A full day at leisure to enjoy Maui’s splendid beaches or to relax by the pool at the hotel. A variety of optional outings includes the Road to Hana, one of the world’s most spectacular scenic drives, with 54 bridges and many waterfalls. You may want to take in the Maui Ocean Center, a state-of-the-art aquarium and marine park that showcases indigenous marine life. From January to mid-April, whale watching is offered.

 Day 12: Maui, excursion to Haleakala NP

This morning is dedicated to HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK, the volcano known to islanders as the “House of the Sun,” and its vast Haleakala Crater. The parkland is located in a setting of stunning natural beauty, ranging from a landscape of cinder cones to dense rainforest. Return to Ka‘anapali in the early afternoon, with the balance of the day at leisure.

 Day 13: Maui

The trip ends today with guests departing on individual schedules. Transfers to Kahului International Airport on Maui are included. You can extend your vacation with extra nights and explore the Valley Island further with a variety of exciting optional activities.
